David H. FISHER

David is an experienced immigration lawyer who joins Halliwells as Consultant – Special Counsel and specialist immigration law expert. He holds a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) from the University of Auckland and has focused his practice on New Zealand (and Australian) immigration law throughout his career.

He began his career in specialist immigration firms, became licensed under the Immigration Advisers Licensing Act, and has advised on the full spectrum of matters from routine visa applications through to complex strategic solutions and successful appeals before the Immigration and Protection Tribunal. David is the founder of Immigration Chambers, a specialist immigration practice for New Zealand and Australia, and as a practising lawyer in both countries he is experienced in cross-border matters.

David is also director of Immigration Consultants Group (Australia), a company that has particular expertise assisting New Zealand and Australian companies to secure skilled migrant labour across a wide range of industries. He regularly advises employers on workforce planning, sponsorship obligations, and the practical pathways available to attract and retain talent under both New Zealand and Australian immigration systems.
